Birke vs Sato: Tokyo Cityscape Battle

Thomas Birke is a photographer from Germany who is “fascinated by life in metropolitan areas … neon signs, rooftops and public video screens.” As such, he travels around densely populated areas (in this case, Tokyo) taking photos at night from fire escapes. Sato Shintaro is a Japanese photographer who takes photographs at night of Tokyo from … the fire escapes of multi-tenant buildings. For me, I feel like the winner, because after visiting Tokyo I fell helplessly in love with the place, and seeing these photos is like seeing photos of my wife and kids (assuming I had either).
