Art of the Computer Generation

Flippantly titled “The Generational: Younger Than Jesus,” the building-wide show, which runs from April 8 through June 14, will present an international sampling of artists 33 and under who were born and bred in the computer age.
“They constitute the largest demographic since the baby boomers,” said Massimiliano Gioni, director of special exhibitions at the New Museum, who organized the show with Laura Hoptman, the New Museum’s senior curator, and Lauren Cornell, the museum’s adjunct curator.

Photographer Spotlight: Helmut Newton

Heltmut Newton was a fashion photographer known most famously for his nude studies of women. He’s one of my favorites and I consider him to be an icon of his era. However, I’m mostly featuring him here today because I was very surprised to learn that he isn’t as well known as I had thought. That just won’t do. gallery after the jump.

It is in these rooms that printers have worked their magic, distilling the works of such as , Anton Corbijn and Nick Knight into a recognisable ‘look’.

Several of the darkrooms featured have since closed down. Others will surely follow. (The darkroom with the slogan pinned [...]

In The Meantime, Summer Ski Time

Good news everyone! Pocket Camera Retro Wednesdays will be returning this week after its unannounced, and surely unoticed, temporary hiatus. I had actually lost my camera, which explains everything and I can simply end this sentenence without giving you anymore details… right about now.
Also, you may have–or may not have–noticed the new site design. It’s still in the early stages as I am slowly polishing everything off and trying to add some more functionality to the site. Hope you enjoy.
