Matthew M. Laskowski Illustrations
Great gallery of Matthew Laskowski’s work over at flylyf. His work has a very distinct Japanese inspired anime style, reminiscent of the work Japanese animation studio Madhouse did on the Paranoia Agent series.
Even more distinctly, his work reminds me of Koji Morimoto. The female character in Matt’s work even resembles the character Yoko from Beyond.

Reuben Margolin’s Kinetic Sculptures
Reuben Margolin, a Bay Area visionary and longtime maker, creates totally singular techno-kinetic wave sculptures. Using everything from wood to cardboard to found and salvaged objects, Reubens artwork is diverse, with sculptures ranging from tiny to looming, motorized to hand-cranked. Focusing on natural elements like a discrete water droplet or a powerful ocean eddy, his work is elegant and hypnotic. Learn more about Reuben at http://www.reubenmargolin.com.

At 22, Essen is about to erupt on the art scene. He is the youngest of the 50 artists [...]

Hate iTunes? Try Songbird
Today I finally had enough of the way iTunes handles files (and by handle, I mean duplicating and mysteriously losing large groups of files at random), so I did a quick search for an alternative and came across Songbird. It’s touted as the Firefox for music, and so far it’s been pretty pleasant. My favorite feature, by far, is it’s built in Last.fm functionality. I’m going to spend the next few weeks with Songbird, and hopefully it will be the end to all of [...]
