In The Meantime, Summer Ski Time
Good news everyone! Pocket Camera Retro Wednesdays will be returning this week after its unannounced, and surely unoticed, temporary hiatus. I had actually lost my camera, which explains everything and I can simply end this sentenence without giving you anymore details… right about now.
Also, you may have–or may not have–noticed the new site design. It’s still in the early stages as I am slowly polishing everything off and trying to add some more functionality to the site. Hope you enjoy.

Pocket Camera Retro Weds. #3 TOKYO EDITION
I’ve been injured for the past week so I was unable to go out and get some new photographs. However, being a photographer, I have a surplus of unused photographs to draw from. This weeks selection of photos is completely FROM TOKYO random with LOTS OF AWESOME TOKYO SHOTS no underlying theme what so ever (seriously, don’t even try to read into them, I MEAN IT). The majority of them were actually shot using a pocket camera, but unfortunately some of them were not (oh the horror). So, without any more fuss, enjoy this weeks Pocket Camera Retro Wednesday TOKYO [...]

Photographer Spotlight: Jamie Nelson
Jamie Nelson is rather interesting photographer. Her work is pretty similar to most fashion photographers, but I really appreciate her understanding of color and her rather eccentric visions. Not to mention her makeup artist is remarkable. Large gallery after the jump.

Photographer Spotlight: Peter Lindbergh
Normally when I do one of these “photographer spotlights”, I try to provide a rough overview of the photographers work. This time however, I would like to specifically focus on Peter Lindbergh’s “Movie Stills” photoshoot, which is based off Martin Scorsese’s 1975 motion picture “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.”

Photographer Spotlight: Lothar Wolleh
Lothar Wolleh (1930 -1979) was one of Germany’s most successful commercial photographers. He has endured as one of my most favorite photographers ever since I picked up a camera. His work is minimalistic in nature yet poetic in vision. Once you find your way past the beautiful symmetry and composition in Lothar’s images, you’ll find yourself asking more about the photographer and less about the amazing people he’s photographing. There’s certainly something undefinable about Lothar; [...]

Pocket Camera Retro Wednesday #1
I hate pocket cameras. I hate Merkley??? I hate the tediously generic (TG) look of the majority of photography circulating the web right now. I hate pocket cameras. I was gifted a pocket camera for Christmas. So, while driving home today and thinking of how Friedlander (look him up if you aren’t following along) was essentially a digital Flickr photography whore who just happened to use a film camera, I came upon the idea of “Pocket Camera Retro Wednesdays (PoCaReW-TG).” What better use of my free time then to perpetuate the very [...]
