Takashi Murakami + Kirsten Dunst


So that strange Kirsten Dunst sighting in Tokyo awhile back has finally been explained. She’s apparently taking part in a new short film by and director McG entitled “Akihabara Majokko Princess”, wherein she plays the part of a “Murakami princess” singing The Vapors “Turning Japanese”.
The video is part of the “Pop Life: Art in a Material World” exhibition currently being held at the Tate Modern museum. We will be sure to publish the video whenever it inevitably makes its way to the Internet.

Irving Penn Has Died

Just found out that Irving Penn has died at the age of 92. I hate to summarize the life of a legend like Irving Penn in a blog post, so I won’t. I will just say that I’ve had the privilege of viewing some of his famed work up close and hands on in the archives of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and I will always cherish that small–albeit impersonal–connection I had with him and the impression his work left upon me. The world has truly lost an icon. Read more about it here.
