Damien Hirst “The Blue Paintings” Exhibition Recap
Here’s a look at Damien Hirst’s latest foray into the art world, a series of self made–as in, unaided by his army of faceless art school worker bots–paintings that The Gaurdian are calling “deadly dull” and “positively amateurish.” Putting aside my own slightly neurotic and occasionally unfounded hatred of Damien Hirst, I must say that the criticism seems misplaced and rather opportunistic given the popularity of anti-Hirst sentiments these days.
While the paintings themselves might not be the greatest works of art ever created, Hirst has done the art world a [...]

New Goodies
I bought some new goodies the other day. Two collection worthy magazines, both featuring Kate Moss covers. The new issue of TAR featuring Damien Hirst’s vivisection of Kate Moss, and the swimsuit issue of V Magazine (that you can see here) featuring practically every model ever (all shot by touchpuppet regular Mario Testino). Now I just need to get the Gisele cover of the V Magazine swimsuit issue. Aly, get on that!

Original Fake 4 Feet Dissected Companion
Highsnobiety gets a close up look at KAWS’ new Damien Hirst-flavored Original Fake 4 feet Dissected Companion toy. Go here for more pictures.
Am I the only one who has picked up on the Damien Hirst/Humbrol reference (see above image)? Anyway, I am pretty sure touchpuppet could use one of these.

Damien Hirst “Requiem” Exhibition Video
Something of significant note is that Damien Hirst seems to be aware of his impending demise (around the 3:04 mark and on). He’s undoubtedly aware that he got away with something outrageous–125 million times over–and he more than likely wants to escape the very image, and subsequent fantasy of a life, that he himself created.
Art historians take note: The true genius of Damien Hirst is that he has, to his utmost awareness, created an outstandingly lavish critique on the idiocy of the contemporary art market by selling them a mass of [...]

Damien Heist For Harley Davidson
From GQ:
Admittedly, it’s not quite a diamond-encrusted skull, but Damien Hirst has turned his hand to designing a one-off Harley Davidson Cross Bones and matching helmet. Hirst’s signature rainbow livery was applied in his main workshop in Briscombe before the bike was disassembled and shipped to Los Angeles, where it will be auctioned at the Creative Arts Agency on 23 April on behalf of Project Angel Food, a charity which provides meals to homebound HIV sufferers. Bidding is expected to start at $100,000 but should end considerably higher if Hirst’s [...]

Damien Hirst Sculpture
Damien Hirst shoots himself in the head in this sculpture by Eugenio Merino, “For The Love of Gold”. I must say, this is probably the greatest work of art so far this year. 13 Feb 09 / Art / No Comments / Zachary Hayes
In a sure sign of the state of the modern art world, the single artwork attracting the most attention at ARCO (the Madrid International Contemporary Art Fair) that opened today was not a masterpiece by DAMIEN HIRST, but rather a parody of the UK bad boy artist by
