Raquel Zimmermann by Mario Sorrenti + KAWS
Mario Sorrenti teams up with KAWS to shoot Raquel Zimmermann for Vogue Paris November 2009. This is the type of photoshoot a lot of us have tried after finding our local graffiti wall, but in this instance Mario shows us how its done yet again. Just goes to show that even the cliched can still be well executed with the right talent. What do you think?

KAWS + Complex Magazine Cover
In the past six months, we have seen Damien Hirst create covers for both Tar Magazine and Pop Magazine, Jeff Koons half-ass a spread for Muse Magazine, and Takashi Murakami caricature himself for the cover of Clark Magazine. Now its KAWS taking a shot at the cover for Complex Magazine’s October issue. Surely this is the first sign of the art world apocalypse. Cut it out guys.

Original Fake 4 Feet Dissected Companion
Highsnobiety gets a close up look at KAWS’ new Damien Hirst-flavored Original Fake 4 feet Dissected Companion toy. Go here for more pictures.
Am I the only one who has picked up on the Damien Hirst/Humbrol reference (see above image)? Anyway, I am pretty sure touchpuppet could use one of these.

Old School KAWS
Rare footage of KAWS tearing it up on the streets of NYC and Tokyo in 1997. This is his first bus-stop in NYC, a bunch of pieces in Tokyo, along with some great commentary by fellow artist Ron English.

Kaws Documentary On CBS
This aired this past weekend apparently, although I managed to miss it. It’s a little awkward. Check out the CBS News article on Kaws here.
Street Art is doing for artists these days what Pop Art did back for Andy Warhol’s generation. BRB, I’m gonna go tag some shit.

KAWS + 808s and Heartbreak Billboard
Kanye West, having previously worked with TOUCHPUPPET favorite Takashi Murkami (I’ll post my Murakami tattoo sometime), has now teamed up with KAWS to create this billboard in New York. The work of KAWS is also featured on Kanye’s 808s and Heartbreak album cover.
Here’s what Kanye has to say about the billboard in his own subtle, understated manner.
AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS PIC THE BILLBOARD IS PLACED THE OPPOSITE THE FLOW OF DRIVING TRAFFIC. WE [...]
