Carl Warner’s Foodscapes
Gone fishing: Only sustainable fish were used to create this seascape, including oysters, scallops and crabs in the foreground, mackerel and herrings for the sea itself, and pollock and sprats for the banks. Thyme stands in for trees, while the boat is a marrow with a mangetout mast
Crazy foodscape art by photographer/artist Carl Warner. Gallery after the jump.

Artist Spotlight: Ceslovas Cesnakevicius
Ceslovas Cesnakevicius is 30 year old digital artist from Lithuania. My first thought when I saw Ceslovas’ work was “René Magritte.” And with the balloons, top hats and umbrellas seen in Ceslovas’ work, I don’t think the comparisons are unintentional, to say the least. Gallery after the jump.

This is an Epic Super Happy Battle, so follow the jump for their respective galleries and let us know who you think the winner is! For me, [...]

Edward Burtynsky’s Australian Minescapes
Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky defines ‘epic’ in images. He has made a name for himself observing human industry against natural beauty, touring China’s Three Gorges Dam project, Italy’s marble quarries, and more recently large-scale open pit copper mining operations in Western Australia.
There are two reasons why I love Edward Burtynsky’s work. One, he shows us the Earth in ways very few others have, and secondly, he still finds something aesthetically appealing about all the ugliness that he photographs. He isn’t simply a documentary photographer; he is an artist, but he is also a conservationalist, and he uses his artistic [...]
