The ATLAS Gallery is having an amazing Polaroid exhibition through October 9 – November 28. The October 9th 2009 exhibition will see the final “Use by” or expiration date of the last batch of Polaroid film manufactured. The opening reception will coincide with Polaroid film’s final date of expiration. However, considering the recent rival of the Polaroid format, I suppose this exhibition has lost some of its original meaning. Regardless of that, it is still a very impressive exhibiton featuring some of my favorite artists and photographers, including (but not limited to): Ansel Adams, Nobuyoshi Araki, Walker Evans, Helmut Newton, Steven Meisel and Daido Moriyama.
The ATLAS gallery is located at 49 Dorset St in London. However, if you can’t make the show, you can still check out their website to see some of the featured works.

Steven Meisel shoots Ymre Stiekema, Anna Jagodzinska, Katrin Thorman, Constance Jablonski and Toni Garrn for Vogue Italia.

An absolutely stunning photoshoot by photographer Steven Meisel and the beautiful Viktoriya Sasonkina. Full gallery after the jump.
Steven Meisel really is a genius, and I don’t think that was fully expressed by our first spotlight on him. This time however, we have included five of our favorite shoots by him to help make it a little more obvious. Enjoy.

The racy, orgy-tastic advertisement for Calvin Klein Jeans has outraged a new set of idiots, this time in New York’s SoHo district. What a pity. The original campaign was shot by touchpuppet favorite Steven Meisel, and as a service to idiots everywhere, I have included all images from the campaign after the jump. Note that the original TV spot for this campaign was banned in America, so go here and watch it.

Guess what tourist from Houston… It is ok, just ask your kids.
